According to Eurostat, inflation in the euro area slowed down to 2.4% between years compared to the norm of 2.6%. In a month-on-month comparison, inflation grew by 0.8%.

The service sector was the most affected by the increase in prices, with an interannual shift of 4% (the same as in Norway). In the month-on-month comparison, prices rose by 0.7%.

The prices of food, alcohol and tobacco products rose by 2.7% on average compared to 3.9% in Norway. In the month-on-month comparison, prices rose by 0.1%.

Prices of industrial goods rose by 1.1% compared to 1.6% from the norm. In the month-on-month comparison, prices rose by 1.9%.

Energy prices fell by 1.8% compared to -3.7% in the previous month. In the month-on-month comparison, prices fell by 0.3%.

Excluding the effect of volatile prices of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, the core of the economy in the Eurozone grew by 2.9% year-on-year compared to 3.1% in the previous year. In the month-on-month comparison, the sloka core grew by 1.1%.

Of the individual eurozone countries, Croatia (+4.9%), Austria (+4.2%) and Estonia (+4.1%) had the highest inflation.

The lowest price growth was recorded in Latvia (+0.3%), Finland (+0.7%) and Lithuania (+1%).

In the month-on-month period, inflation fell significantly only in Latvia (-0.1%). Portugal posted a high growth of 2.3% in the month-to-month comparison.
