In recent weeks, French President Emmanuel Macron has been showing his muscles, both literally, as was the case not long ago when he punched a punching bag, and with sharp rhetoric and orders to send troops to Ukraine. Thus, France has won the media image of the country, which is a thief to help Kiev. In one respect, it lags behind the rest of Europe.

In the unflattering last place, there is help for Ukrainian refugees. Since the Russian invasion of the countries of the European Union, there have been more than four million of them, according to the latest data from Eurostat, France hosts about 69 thousand of them per thousand of inhabitants, or only one Ukrainian. For comparison: in Germany, there are currently 1.2 million Ukrainians under permanent protection, in the Czech Republic there are over 380,000. So we have 35 Ukrainian refugees from the wolf per thousand inhabitants.

There is one certain technical reason to explain the huge difference compared to the rest of Europe. The statistics of Ukrainian refugee women in France do not include minors, as they do not have to be permitted to stay here for a long time. The non-profit organization La Cimade stated that, compared to official data, there are tens of thousands more Ukrainians in France. Even with their sweat, however, the Macron administration would not be able to help itself.

According to their own words, the Ukrainians themselves do not flock to France for many reasons. The language barrier is obvious, but much more important is the absence of established Ukrainian communities, explains Yevgenija Blyukov, founder of the organization Gradus, which, among other things, monitors the experiences of Ukrainian refugee women abroad. Financial support is more important in France than in Germany, on the contrary, there is a bureaucratic burden here, he explains.

Pli paprovn and migration to the state

Natalia Chomenkov fled Ukraine shortly after the beginning of the Russian invasion in November 2022. The 50-year-old woman first went to Belgrade, Serbia, to join her sister, but because she speaks French well, a month later she went to Rennes. She used the directive of the European Union on the permanent protection of refugee women from Ukraine, which, according to the latest, extended her salary until the end of 2025. With the help of the bees, she managed to rent an apartment and found a job. She herself, however, admits that her pbh is affected, if she relied only on the help of others, she would not get anywhere.

According to Ksenia Gedzov, the coordinator of the humanitarian organization Right to Protection, the biggest problem is the complexity of the entire system, which is enough for lifelong protection, social support and a good hostel. France is a country of paparo, mn and pipomon, and the extension of lifetime protection is the need for data every six months.

Help from the state is minimal in this case, refugees rely mostly on discussion groups on social networks, where Ukrainians ask for experience and tips. According to the Ukrainians, France is the exact opposite of Germany, where women are on equal footing in terms of foreign aid. In France, help local associations and private initiatives.

Ukrainians are also indebted to the help of their compatriots who went to France before them. Ukrainian musician Anna Stavyenkov will star with the support of the Philharmonic Band about her colleagues from the gate. They are interested in work not only in France. The situation is still very unstable, we don’t know how long we will have work. We don’t have a long-term plan and we go from day to day, he explains.

The so-called permanent protection is the reason for many Ukrainians, not only in France, but also in other countries, that they do not see their future. Let’s look at it from the bottom up, first the timeliness of help is decisive in how families decide about their future, Daniel Goreva from the non-profit organization Save the Children describes for the newspaper Politico.

Eurostat data also confirm this. In some countries, the number of Ukrainian refugees has decreased in recent months, including France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. A big problem with our northern neighbors is the lack of parking capacity. Two-thirds of Ukrainian children do not go to school here, the situation is similar in Romania.

Refugees from Poland probably do not return to Ukraine, but look for a better life in other European countries. The organization of hunters in distress stated that of the original 1.6 million bens in the country, about 960 thousand remained. Do not immigrate to neighboring Germany and other Western European countries, especially because of the long-term options and better social security.

The Czech Ministry of the Interior, due to the fact that the Czech Republic is not on the external borders of the European Union, does not have accurate information on how many people under permanent protection moved to Ukraine. However, according to the results of registrations for the extension of lifetime protection from last year, we estimate that roughly one-tenth of the people who were granted lifetime protection by the Czech Republic moved to Ukraine, Hana Mal from the Department of Communications of the Ministry of the Interior told iDNES.cz.

What will happen after the protection?

Ukrainians in France often feel that they are caught between two countries. They are devoted to the eternal protection of their new homeland, but they still have a strong bond with Ukraine. For all Ukrainians, it is a party tk analogy. We support our homeland as much as possible, we organize collections, but at the same time we are trying to adapt to a new life in France so that our children have a future, Ukrainian sculptor Nikita Zigur, who lives in Nice, explains to France24.

Don’t have a certain future. Khomenkov reminds that Ukrainians are still worried about what will happen to them after the talk of permanent protection expires in March 2025. Two years passed as if nothing had happened, but they extended the possibility of protection by a year. The situation is complicated beyond belief. I think that the European Union should start dealing with this issue, he says.

For Ukrainian refugee women, the granting of priesthood is a variant of the far future, for example not only France, but also Czechia. Ministry of the Interior for the same period from January 1, 2022 to March 26. 2024 records a total of 2,844 citizens of Ukraine who were granted citizenship of the Czech Republic. As for the people who drank because of the wolf, it is likely that none of them were granted religious status, as the condition for being granted religious status is a minimum of five years of permanent residence, explains Mal.

The Human First organization notes that Ukraine also faces the problem of so-called internal refugees who had to leave their homes because of the wolf, but did not go abroad. At first, the International Organization for Migration stated that the number of internally displaced women is currently over five million.

According to the information, the hunters in distress, half of them come from Kharkiv and Donsk regions. Shortly after the Russian invasion, half of them moved to the west of Ukraine, currently a large number of them are in the regions most affected by wolves. In the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, the number of internally displaced women reaches a quarter of a million. The Kyiv region, where there are about six hundred thousand banks, also reports a high number of female refugees.
