The missile landed two kilometers from the village of Krasnoye, the Astra channel reported. Russian military pyrotechnicians destroyed it at the point of impact.

The Astra channel pointed out that during March and April, it recorded 21 cases when ammunition was dropped from airplanes on the territory of the Russian Federation or the occupied territories of Ukraine.

In the last two weeks of March alone, there were 16 cases. On March 30, two half-ton FAB 500 bombs fell two kilometers from the village of Krjukovo. Two days earlier, a one and a half ton KAB-1500 bomb even fell between Bessonovka and Vesjola Lopaní and closed the road between the two villages.

That same morning, over 140 residents of the village of Bezymeno had to be evacuated, where a FAB 250 bomb fell. It took a whole day to defuse it. Another FAB 500 bomb was discovered in the village of Něčajevka.

The Russian military is calling it an “abnormal munitions drop” and has not given a cause. However, the number of bombs found in this way indicates a problem, because bombs should not be accidentally released from hangers so often.

Ch-59 Ovod cruise missiles are launched by Russian aircraft. The two-stage missile was developed in the 1970s. Originally powered by two rocket engines, in the modernized version of the Ch-59M from the 1980s, a rocket engine gives it initial acceleration and then a jet engine propels it.

Versions with a jet engine have a range of 200 to 300 km. Their heads weigh over 300 kg. They launch from Su-30M multipurpose aircraft and Su-24M and Su-34 front-line bombers. It can be used against both land targets and ships.
