I am and will remain the number one AfD candidate for the European elections, said Krah, who explained the case personally to fellow AfD members Alica Weidelov and Tina Chrupall in the morning. He noted that the fact that the official party pre-election campaign will not take place on Saturday in Donaueschingen does not change the position of the candidate’s leader.

Krah declared the accused, whom his assistant had gone to, outside. I will fire my co-worker today, he said of the assistant whom the court sent to prison on Tuesday.

Krah said straight away that he did not see the whole case as a result of his personal mistakes. He stated that he would like to clarify the entire incident, which he believes will throw a wall at the AfD election campaign. Now it is time for the election campaign to turn its attention to European issues and leave this very unpleasant affair behind, he added.

The Federal State Representation said on Tuesday that the detained assistant was suspected of being a spy, who was supposed to leak information about the proceedings of the European Parliament and the activities of the Russian opposition. The German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeserov, declared the incident very strange.

For Krah, it is a scandal that complicates his election campaign. Together with AfD member of parliament Petr Bystron, who is number two on the European candidate list, it is suspected that they received pensions from the pro-Russian St. This case was started by links to the Czech Denka N and the German magazine Der Spiegel, which referred to sources in the secret services. Krah and Bystro refuse to pay the salary. The AfD stood up for the pair and revealed that no evidence had yet been made public to confirm the suspicion.
