White? No chance, this year’s spring holidays will be characterized by almost summer temperatures

Ústí Region – The Easter 2024 trend is clear – “African kiss”. Which in translation means that warm air from Africa, namely Algeria, Libya and Tunisia, and partly from other countries (including Egypt) will reach the Czech Republic, in fact a large part of Europe. And of course the Saharan dust will travel with it.

The “dustiest” day of the Easter triduum will be Holy Saturday, when the influx of warm air from the south will peak and when the Czech Republic could experience the first summer day (a day with a maximum temperature of 25.0 °C and above) this year. Last year’s first day of summer was May 5 (the thermometer showed 25.2 °C in Pilsen), May 9 the year before (the warmest was in Doksany, 25.6 °C). On the contrary, in 2021, summer was heard for the first time on March 31, when they measured 25.1 °C in Neumětely and Prague.

On White Saturday, the Czech absolute temperature record for March, which has a value of 25.6 °C and was recorded by the station in Poděbrady on March 31, 1968, will be threatened.

In the Ústí Region at that time (March 31, 1968), the limit of twenty-five degrees Celsius was not conquered, but then again it was not that much. Doksane reported 23.1 °C, but it got colder in the morning (3.3 °C).

As for March 30, three years ago it hit: Milešovka 20.8 °C, Teplice 23.9 °C, Kopisty 24.6 °C. By the way, Thanks to 24.6 °C, Mostecko finished at the top of the table of maximum temperatures. The original record for March 30 (at the station in Kopisty) came from 1989, namely 22.3 °C.

White Saturday: Sunny, mostly clear (between midnight and nine to ten high clouds, occasionally low). The highest afternoon temperatures around 19 to 23 °C, somewhere perhaps up to 24 °C. Lowest morning temperatures around 9 to 5 °C.

Easter Sunday: It will cool down, the highest afternoon temperatures “only” around 16 to 20 °C. The lowest morning temperatures then around 10 to 6 °C. Plus the sun (that the sky would be swept away all day, that’s not the case).

Easter Monday: Cooling again, the highest afternoon temperatures “only” around 13 to 17 °C. Lowest morning temperatures around 9 to 5 °C. It will probably be a light shower after lunch. About.
