Sixty-one million crowns flowed into the account of the city of Rokycany. This is the majority of money withheld since the year before last in the bankrupt Sberbank CZ. It is 95 percent of the applied amount. The city of Rokycany had two accounts with Sberbank and the original deposit was 59 million crowns. Sberbank also received a license due to the outflow of deposits after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“The amount of 61,251,996.64 crowns came to the city’s account. Half of the funding came from the Environmental Fund, the rest from ordinary funds. This year, for example, II. stage of the revitalization of Husové Sady and Kalvária,” informed the spokeswoman of the Rokycan town hall Adriana Jarošová. These are the most significant and extensive areas of public green space with walking routes, gazebos and viewpoints.
The city calculated that this year it would give seven million crowns for the restoration of the orchards “It has an area of 23 hectares and is a natural monument as an important paleontological site. We will create walls, educational trails and a new multi-functional playground there,” spokeswoman Jarošová said.

This year, according to the approved budget, Rokycany has a budget of 681 million crowns and a deficit of 216 million crowns. Savings will cover the loss. This year, the city wants to spend a record 261 million crowns on investments, roughly 38 percent of the budget.
Komerční banka has been paying the claims of creditors of Sberbank CZ since March 18. There are over 15,000 creditors, they should receive approximately 57 billion crowns. The payout will last until April 15. The Prague Municipal Court declared bankruptcy on Sberbank CZ at the end of August 2022 after the Czech National Bank legally revoked the bank’s banking license at the beginning of May. Steps to revoke the license were initiated by the CNB on February 28, 2022. The reason was the deterioration of the situation of Sberbank CZ due to the outflow of deposits after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
