According to the company, the first flight on the new route from Prague to the Azores was fully booked today.
The airline Smartwings today opened a new direct flight connection from Prague to Ponta Delgada airport in the Azores. A regular service to the largest Azores island, São Miguel, is available twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Getting to the Azores in the Atlantic on a direct flight without transfers from Prague has been impossible until now. The line will be served by a Boeing 737 aircraft with a capacity of 189 seats. According to the company, the first flight on the new route from Prague to the Azores was fully booked today.
Flight QS1172 will depart from Václav Havel Airport Prague every Tuesday and Friday at noon (12:00) arriving in Ponta Delgada at 15:30 local time. For the return flight QS1173 from Ponta Delgada to Prague, the flight schedule calculates a departure at 16:15 local time, the plane will land at Prague airport at 22:50.
As for destinations in the Atlantic, the Czech carrier also provides regular air connections between Prague and the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma will be added from June 4) and Madeira, Portugal.
The airline Smartwings will offer a total of five new flight connections from Prague during the summer flight schedule:
Ponta Delgada (Azores, from April 26, 2 times a week from Prague)
Izmir (Turkey, from May 30, 2 times a week from Prague)
Athens (Greece, from May 31, 2 x weekly from Prague)
Brindisi (Italy, from June 3, 2 times a week from Prague)
La Palma (Canary Islands, from June 4, once a week from Prague)
Smartwings will deploy a fleet of 58 aircraft in the upcoming summer season.
