Firefighters in the Vysoin intervened from 11 a.m. until the evening because of the dark weather, and that was the case in several cases. They also cleared fallen trees and branches from the roads. The attack on Pardubice fanned the fire

Even in Pardubice, the fire department went out on Tuesday to events caused by the weather. Chainsaws are used to cut down trees in our region, but they blow fire. Firefighters have their hands full. In the afternoon, they intervened, for example, in Biskupice (in the Svitava region), where a place was left unattended due to a diaper that caught fire, said Vendula Horkov, spokeswoman for the regional fire department.

According to Horkov, the fire remained after Monday’s fire. The flames spread to 20 by 30 meters. The intervening units faced not only a strong wind, but also a very steep and impassable hill. Firefighters had to contain the flames in the forest. The fire inspector imposed a block fine in revenge. A forest worth roughly half a million crowns was saved from the flames, she said

In the afternoon, the fire brigades went to Lzn Bohdane in Pardubice, where they were mowing a meadow and a field of devines. A strong wind blew out two fires. Firefighters extinguished the fire in Opatov, where high-voltage wires fell into the forest and the tree caught fire, added Horkov.

The train ran into a fallen tree on Umperska

On Tuesday afternoon, it wasn’t just the northeast that suffered from the storm. In the afternoon, a passenger train ran into a fallen tree on the railway line between Hanuovice and Jindichov in Umperska in the Olomouc region. 29 people were traveling in the train, but no one was injured. The passengers then transferred to a replacement bus. On the line connecting Zbeh and Umperk with Jesenko, the train service was again stopped due to accidents, it was resumed shortly after 16:00.

In connection with the fire in the Olomouc region, the fire brigade registered more than two incidents in the past. It is definitely a matter of fallen trees on roads. However, we discovered that the roof was damaged. In two cases, we used age technique and temporarily secured the wall covering, said firefighter Lucie Balov.
