Bravo! The Czech snowboarder was the first in the world to master a unique trick

--

Trick Hroneš starts driving forward with the opposite leg than is natural for him. As he steps onto the rail, he spins 90 degrees, goes face down to land, bounces off the rail, does a triple somersault, and at the end adds a 90 degree spin to the left and lands in the direction of his natural front foot. So it is a triple somersault with three and a half turns around itself.

“The hardest thing about this trick is the technicality of it, because bouncing off something iron and spinning three times over your head and landing back in the snow is completely different than bouncing off the snow. These tricks are not done very often, because finding obstacles of this type and calculating how it all works is extremely difficult,” said Hroneš.

At the age of 16, he mastered this trick on a jump, i.e. with a bounce from the snow, and immediately considered trying it from the railing as well. He tried last year, but didn’t succeed then. “At first I was disappointed that it didn’t work out, but in retrospect I’m glad I didn’t go ahead at the time. I learned a few things, I learned to work better with the number of attempts, energy, concentration. We also changed the place this year, prepared a longer impact, so I had more space in the air. The railing had a larger radius at the end. I think all these aspects led to the fact that it was successful this year, and I am very happy,” said Hroneš.

Instead of classic snowboard waxing, he used lard. “During the first attempts, after jumping on the railing, all the edges came under me. But after two days of training, I was sure that I knew how it works, and then it was just a matter of concentrating on the correct execution of the trick,” said the Czech representative in freestyle snowboarding.

He was happy that he performed the unique trick in Špindlerův Mlýn, where he comes from. “It means the most to me that I learned to snowboard here on the slopes. I can’t think of a better place to ride than here at St. Peter’s Crossing,” he said in a media video.
