Today is a different time, I will regret it for the rest of my life, says the Council after reducing the sentence

--

He was threatened with an eight-month ban, but in the end the sentence is considerably lower. On Monday, the appeals commission reduced Petr Rada’s sentence to three months, leaving the fine of 80,000 crowns in full. The coach of Dukla is piqued for his words “Zoufalča gypsy”, with which he honored the then coach of Brno, Tomáš Polách, in the first spring round. He can’t be on the bench until the end of the season and won’t even sit on it in the 1st round of the next one. What were Rado’s first words after the final verdict?

“Of course, I’m better off for this than the eight months I should have received first. Someone will say that football is not played during the break, so my sentence is even shorter as a result, which is true. But that I got a sentence for two words for three months, it still seems enough to me. I’m worried about what happened and what dimensions it went to after that.” commented the Council, who, like before the disciplinary committee, also appeared before the appeal committee in person.

What was he defending? “I kept repeating the same thing. That if someone saw a racist subtext in it, I’m really sorry. I stand by the fact that there was nothing racist in it. And I will maintain that until the end of my life, even if I am to blame I apologized to Tomáš and he accepted it, but I understand that today is a different time.” stated the renowned coach who during his career led both Prague “S” and the Czech national team.

He does not dare to guess whether ORK accepted his explanation. “I really don’t know, I don’t even know the clauses. Most people will say now that I’m glad that they reduced it to three months, but this case will regret me for the rest of my life. I’m at the end of my coaching career and I’m really not happy that in I’ve made some mistakes, I won’t deny them, I’m not Mirek Dušín. stated Rada, who will watch such a demanding end of the season only from the stands.

However, nothing will probably change about his future in Dukla. “Probably not, but I haven’t talked to the president (Peter Paukner) about it yet. I have to say, in any case, that this whole case makes me sad because of me and because of him. We have a relationship where we stand by each other. And now I have caused him such hassle,” he admitted how sorry he was for everything.

“I can come tomorrow and someone will say that I quit, that it won’t work like this. It’s football and I’m already used to the fact that anything can happen in it. On the other hand, from the moment this case broke out, I felt that the management he’s behind me. I don’t think anything should change.” pointed out Rada in a situation where there are six rounds left to play before the end of the competition and his team leads the second league by four points ahead of Vyškov.

“Our goal is definitely to finish it. We all have to be fully focused to stay in first place and move up a notch. It’s our number one priority.” the famous coach concluded.
