CHOMUTOVSKO – Police officers rehearsed an intervention in the event of an “active shooter” attack.
This morning, a planned police tactical exercise aimed at coordinating activities and procedures in the event of an “active shooter” attack took place at the ESOZ Secondary School in Na Průhoně street. In addition to police officers, members of the HZS and Chomutov Municipal Police took part in the exercise organized by the Territorial Department of the Police of the Czech Republic in Chomutov. The students of the ESOZ secondary school in Chomutov helped us as extras.
The essence of today’s exercise was to create a situation in which two active shooters, in this case, started attacking the school, who were shooting at people present inside the school. The exercise was simulated from receiving the initial notification of a shooting at the school on the emergency line 158 to the elimination of the perpetrators by the police and other actions related in particular to ensuring the safety of people during the aforementioned emergency.
