First, it was necessary to start by demolishing the ground-floor annex behind the building, where the school locker rooms were located. After that, part of the additions to both side wings from the 1950s also went to the ground. The workers of the specialized company removed a total of 1,400 tons of construction debris. Currently, excavation and waterproofing work has begun, and after removing the original paving, part of the partitions and repairing the roof, the interior reconstruction can begin.

At the same time, a modern extension with a flat roof and an atrium will be inserted between the side wings of the building, thanks to which natural daylight will be ensured, which will illuminate the entire inner space of the hall with panoramic elevators.

The repair of the building together with the exterior improvements in the courtyard at the back of the building, where a parking lot will be built and the adjacent park will be improved, will cost 151 million crowns. In the former school after its reconstruction, the Office of the Municipal District Plzeň 4 will have its seat, which is now spread over several buildings and in one of them it has to pay commercial rent. The rebuild should be completed next fall.
