Gogglebox and Celebrity Big Brother star George Gilbey has died suddenly aged 40. The British newspaper The Standard reported that the cause of death was a fall from a height that occurred at the workplace.
“On Wednesday morning we received reports of an incident in Campfield Road, Shoebury, in which a man who was working at height fell and sustained injuries. Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were on the scene. The man unfortunately died at the scene,” The Standard quoted a spokesman for Essex Police as saying.

Gilbey became famous mainly for his participation in the reality show Gogglebox, where he appeared together with his mother Linda and stepfather Peter. This television format is based on a group of people watching and commenting on television programs from the comfort of their homes. Gilbey became one of the most popular participants due to his comedic talent.
Before his participation in Gogglebox, Gilbey worked as an electrician. However, his spontaneous and charismatic nature soon catapulted him into the world of reality shows. For example, he appeared in Celebrity Big Brother, where he made it to the finals, The Mirror reported.
