Retractable hydraulic bollards will disappear from the streets in the center

Hydraulic bollards previously blocked the entrance to the pedestrian zone in the city

Retractable bollards at the entrances to the pedestrian zone in Benešova, Věžní and Palackého streets will be removed and will be removed from the city’s property. They were acquired in 2004 and served to secure entrances to the pedestrian zone.

Today, however, thanks to changes in the traffic regime, they are no longer needed, moreover, they are outdated and in recent years have suffered considerable malfunctions and have often been out of service for a long time due to the unavailability of spare parts.

If there was no change in the traffic regime in the pedestrian zone, it would be necessary to replace the entire equipment, or replace the hydraulic posts with another solution, e.g. camera surveillance.

Jihlava will provide the Horácké Theater with a subsidy of one million crowns. The deputies decided on it today. The money will go to partially cover the costs associated with the activities of the theater group focused on creations for children and youth HD_Jéé this year.

The new theater group was established on January 1, 2024. The expansion of the range of cultural services for young audiences is associated with increased costs for the preparation and implementation of individual activities, including premieres of fairy tales and productions for teenagers, as well as other activities and projects aimed at young audiences. Therefore, the management of the theater turned to the city representative with a request for a subsidy of one million crowns.

From the money, the theater will partially cover, for example, material for the production of the scene and costumes, the purchase of props and technical equipment, the costs of guest artists or the costs of promotion such as printing and decorating posters or creating promotional items.

The Jihlava Horácké divadlo, which is a contributory organization of the Vysočina Region, asked the city for a subsidy based on a memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum was concluded by the county and the city in 2015 and was extended for another five years in 2020. As part of the memorandum, the region annually financially supports the zoo, which is a subsidized organization of the city.
