A minimalist wardrobe, in which you only have a few basic pieces of clothing and shoes, has recently gained popularity among stylists and their clients. However, mutually combinable pieces made of natural materials can cost tens of thousands. Stylist Gabriela Zimová advises how to proceed efficiently and save money when putting together a wardrobe.
“Walking around nicely and stylishly dressed is cheaper than walking around dressed cheaply and always buying new clothes that wear out faster,” the stylist points out right at the beginning of the podcast Money is (not) talked about. She herself is not afraid to buy secondhand or secondhand on the Internet.

It is difficult not to succumb to advertisements and the lure of “bargain” discounts. “Of course, you need a strong will, but it’s also useful to have a ready list of pieces of clothing that are missing from your wardrobe and need to be added,” advises the stylist. “Before you buy new clothes, think about what else you can combine them with from your existing wardrobe,” she adds.
“My most valuable tip, which I always pass on, and many clients are surprised that they didn’t think of it, is the possibility of tailoring ready-made clothes,” reveals Zimová. And he immediately gives an example: “You looked for a quality piece in a secondhand or vintage store, but it doesn’t fit you, but you like the material, you also agree with the brand, the color is also great and it fits into your wardrobe, buy it and go for a seamstress or tailor. Tell them your idea and he/she will take care of it.”
