Ústí Region – The Ústí Region recognizes the best athletes among individuals and teams for the year 2023. Their announcement, under the auspices of the Governor of the Ústí Region, Jan Schiller, took place in the Jaroslav Vrchlický Theater in Louna.
Chomutov wrestler Artur Omarov won in the most watched adult individual category. Thanks to his great performances, he secured a ticket to the Olympics in Paris, where he will want to improve his best from the last top sporting event (he was eleventh at the Tokyo Olympics).
Among the adult teams, the basketball players from Děčín, who won the Czech Cup last season and took silver medals in the league, deservedly dominated.
Among disabled athletes, swimmer Alex Borská from Ústí won. Among the youth, the most successful were Tomáš Čermák from the Děčín swimming club and the boys from BK ARMEX Děčín.
