Rehearsals for the new Forman theater are in full swing

At the beginning of March, the rehearsals of the theater play Forman, this year’s novelty at Letní, started scENo Kampa Museum. Not only the character of Miloš Forman, played by Marko Adamczyk and Patrik Děrgel, but also other key aspects of the production receive clear contours. The generously conceived scenography reflects the fame and world renown of director Miloš Forman. For the first time, state-of-the-art audiovisual elements, such as large transparent LED screens, will be used on the Summer Stage of Museo Kampa. The premiere will be on June 18 and 19.

Reasons why a proven creative team led by a screenwriter and a producer Daniela Sodomova and director AddELou Laštovková Stodolová dedicated his new work to Miloš Forman, there are quite a few. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the premiere of Forman’s Oscar-winning film Amadeus. It was filmed in Prague and the crew had a background in the park next to the Kampa Museum. In addition, Miloš Forman lived in Všehrdova Street, adjacent to Kampa, even before emigration.

The production covers the fate of Miloš Forman from approximately 10 to 47 years of age. But it is definitely not just a record of his life, although even that in itself is full of dramatic vicissitudes. The main motto is Forman’s belief: “Hold on to that dream”. The story of Miloš Forman shows that freedom and creative independence are key values ​​worth pursuing at all costs. Marek Adamczyk and Patrik Děrgel will play the title role of Forman, other roles will be played by Matouš Ruml, Petr Vršek, Max Koček, Max Dolanský, Václav Vašák, Stáňa Jachnická, Přemek Pálek, Kryštof Krhovják, Kryštof Bartoš and others.

By introducing the game Forman the project culminates on the Kampa Museum’s Summer Stage Year of Forman. It is part of it Miloš podcast Foreman: DrI dream of it, which analyzes and approaches the filmmaker’s life through famous Forman films. The guide to the podcast is the film columnist Pavel Sladký, the theme and dramaturgy is Iveta Nebesařová. The podcast series can be listened to for free in all podcast applications, incl. To Year of Forman Český rozhlas will also be involved, selected cinemas that will show Forman’s films, as well as the popular Prague one second hand 1981. His workshop will produce a recycled collection tailored to the Forman production.

The popular Summer Stage of the Kamp Museum on the Vltava embankment will also present audience hits during the upcoming season Werich and Marta. Production Werich with Vojtěch Kotek in the lead role will be played from 12 to 17 August. From 22 August to 15 September it follows Martaawarded the 2023 Thalia Award for Best Female Performance in the category Musical, operetta and other musical-dramatic genres, which she received Hana Holišová for the portrayal of the legendary singer Marta Kubišová. Theater recital Marta this year, from the home Summer Stage of the Musea Kampa, it will head to other audiences – it will be presented for the first time at the Colors of Ostrava festival and will be broadcast live by ČT Art on 2 September.

Traditionally, the Kampa Museum’s Summer Scene program will also include concerts across musical genres. Ondroar Havelka with the Melody Makers will perform on 6/24, Dan Bandrta & ILLUSTRATOSPHERE they will play on 6/25 Igor Orozovich will present his repertoire on 8/29 and in the evening of 8/30 will be part of the concert Lenka Filipová with strings – River of life.
