Charles Leclerc spoke about his teammate Carlos Sainz, who will leave Ferrari after the season. According to the Monaco, the Spaniard need not worry about his future.

Since it was announced at the beginning of February that Carlos Sainz will be replaced at Ferrari after this season by Lewis Hamilton, the Spaniard’s next steps in his F1 career have been unknown.

It is speculated that the son of the two-time world rally champion could head to, for example, Mercedes, Audi, but also, for example, Aston Martin or Red Bull.

However, the beginning of this season indicated that Sainz should have no problem finding a competitive seat after his departure. The native of Madrid is showing excellent form, despite the fact that he had to miss the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia due to acute appendicitis surgery.

In Bahrain, Sainz finished third, when he was not enough for the Red Bull pilots, he missed the subsequent race in Saudi Arabia due to the already mentioned problems, and he even triumphed in Australia last weekend.

In the context of Sainz’s recent performances, his team-mate Charles Leclerc was asked if Sainz is sometimes underrated, even given that he rarely figures in the top driver’s lists.

“I think everyone knows what Carlos is worth in the paddock. He is one of the highest ranked drivers and every time he sits in a Formula 1 car he is extremely strong, which he has proven several times. I don’t think he’s underestimated,” said Leclerc, quoted by RacingNews365.

“I’m not too worried about his future, so I’m sure a lot of F1 team bosses are talking to him. I am sure he will have many opportunities. He’ll just have to decide what’s best for his career,” added the winner of five major awards.
