The footage shows an unmanned speedboat approaching the Ivan Churs ship. The moment it hits the vessel on the starboard side, the image is lost.

“Russia has claimed that the ship continues to perform its functions without mentioning its condition. But it seems that the third boat damaged the ship,” Anton Herashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, wrote on Twitter about the video.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said Wednesday after the boat attack that it was a failed attempt by Ukrainian armed forces. “All the enemy boats were destroyed by fire from the Russian ship’s conventional weapons,” he added.

Last April, Ukraine managed to sink the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva. It went to the bottom after being hit by a Neptun anti-ship missile. Russia said the cause of the ship’s loss was an explosion caused by an ammunition fire on board.
